The Power of In Person

Since 2020 we’ve been missing each other. Covid ushered in an unprecedented era of remoteness, which persists five years later. There’s an epidemic of loneliness and young adults are feeling it acutely. I see it with my clients, many of whom work remotely, some of whom have never met their bosses in person. Today it’s almost impossible to get an in-person interview, even in the final rounds. Everyone is geared up to meet on Zoom, Teams or Meet Up. We all have fancy backgrounds to disguise our unmade beds, we are professional on top and ready for a run on the bottom.

Work from Home Leaves Young Adults’ Careers Lagging

No question this has been a privilege for many. For working parents or people with constraints post-Covid, being able to work from home has been a god send.

But for most young adults, whose supervisors don’t “really” know them or feel invested in their careers, it’s a huge deficit which will impact their careers forever. Remote workers have fewer professional development opportunities. They get laid off more quickly and easily because they haven’t had a chance to be viewed in full. They haven’t benefited from all the unscripted moments that have always made up a workday – the informal chats and accessibility to those senior to them.

We Want to Help

To combat some of this work loneliness and anonymity, my wonderful colleague Vanessa Hicks and I have devised a powerful 8-week career development and leadership training program, teaching critical skills like peer coaching and long-range job optimization. We’re doing it the old-fashioned way, IRL in NYC, in intimate cohorts of 10 people.

In person is the new secret weapon for developing and advancing your career.

The Details

We’ll meet for two hours every week and participants will learn about themselves and each other, forging new relationships and practicing new skills while they plan their careers.

We know we have a lot to offer this dedicated community of likeminded individuals aged 25-35, curated by Vanessa and me for optimal cohesion, camaraderie, and learning.

We’re very excited about this and encourage you to apply!

And as always, if you want to discuss anything about the program with me, just contact me here.
