Allison Cheston, Career Connector

A new vision for
your career.

It’s not just a job - it’s personal.

Your career is part of your identity; it’s self-expression. Aspiration. How you excel.

Something so personal and pivotal can’t be left to chance, but should be carefully, expertly guided. I’ve made my own career as that guide.
By melding 30 years of marketing, executive search and cross-cultural experience with an instinct for what’s beneath the surface: the things that define you, drive you, or hold you back. I’m both collaborator and tough motivator, creating an intimate process that helps you at a career crossroads—whatever your stage of life—find and follow your ideal path.

It’s difficult to step into the unknown. So whether you’re in college or just hitting the job market, we’ll work together to find the path that best fits your strengths, interests, and values, then build your knowledge, experience, and confidence to follow it. Think of it as the push you need to get started, and the support to ensure you can soar.

At mid-career, change can be intimidating. To move forward, you have to understand the essence of your own brand—what you do best, where you’ll be happiest, and who’ll be happiest with you. During our process we’ll uncover all that, along with marketing and networking strategies to help you
stand out.

You may have found your field, but advancement isn’t automatic. To open new doors means defining and developing the skills and aptitudes valued most in your industry or organization, identifying real hurdles, and improving how you tell your story. It’s a means to empower your best to come out.

Whether you’re launching, developing or changing your career, you’ll want to get really good at telling the story of YOU. In just a few sessions we’ll craft your building blocks, articulating who you are, what you offer and where you’re going—your branded pitch for every interview, internal meeting or business development conversation.

Allison is a rare blend. Her experience as a career advisor across a variety of fields is matched only by her grounded values, good common sense, and keen listening skills. I would (and have) recommended Allison enthusiastically to anyone ready to tackle the daunting task of figuring out exactly what they want to get out of their career.

Let's Chat.

Since 2005, I’ve helped hundreds of executives and young adults discover, launch, advance and change their careers. Using a marketing framework, I guide clients in connecting their skills and interests to viable career paths, uncovering the value they bring to the job market and partnering with them in exploring roles and organizations that could be a good fit. We develop a themed narrative, a hero’s story that weaves together the important pieces of their work and personal history, to direct interviews, networking meetings and social events. For those in search of interview preparation exclusively, I offer a shorter program of narrative development and interview and negotiation training.

I always meet prospective clients before an engagement so it won’t hurt to have a conversation. And I work with clients all over the country, in person or over Skype, so don’t let distance deter you.

I look forward to hearing from you!
