As a career advisor specializing in working with young adults, I guide them through a process to identify a direction to pursue, translate their skills and interests into a concrete plan, and work closely with them to tell their story through specialized self-marketing tools, in order to match their desires and goals with market reality. The goal isn't just landing any job; it's a bespoke process of finding work that genuinely fits while learning a repeatable process for career decisions going forward.

As a parent of adult children myself, I know firsthand how tough it is when your child is struggling. The most useful thing you can do is support their personal interests and listen to their ideas, and consider bringing in a neutral third party. Career conversations between parents and adult children often get tangled up in family dynamics and unspoken (and also spoken!) expectations. I work to provide your offspring a structured, judgment-free process to figure out their own direction, along with a plan for us to get there together.

I’m a big fan of employing AI in a career and job search and I use it all the time to support my process. But while career quizzes or AI chat can surface options, they can't ask follow-up questions based on your specific history, provide professional judgment and perspective, or hold you accountable. In my work I combine structured frameworks with a well-informed, deeply supportive approach. I’m warm, pragmatic, and adaptable, while moving clients forward into new territory, step by step. Getting results is very important to me, and after being in this business for 20+ years I know how to steer clients around roadblocks as needed.

I have a consulting call with each prospective client, to determine your needs, see how I can help, and make sure we have good chemistry. Pricing depends on the scope of work, which I outline on the call, given your particular situation. description

There’s no doubt we are in a tough market, and job search is taking longer. Right now, a full career discovery or career-change process, which includes identifying your direction, building your narrative and marketing dossier, and executing a search, typically runs 3-4 months. But everyone is different and it could be sooner.

I love working in person but many of my clients are outside the New York Area, so Zoom is always an option.

Primarily two groups: young adults in early career (20’s and early 30’s) figuring out direction and launching a career, and professionals at a career crossroads interested in changing course or moving up in their careers.
Signs you (or your young adult) might benefit from a career advisor:
— Graduated or graduating and lacking a clear direction
— Feeling stuck, unmotivated, or anxious about the job search
— Applying to jobs with no response and unsure why
— Landing interviews but not jobs
— Employed but feel like the career isn't right
— Family friction around the job search
